Meet Dr. Alexandra Sredni

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience working with adolescents, college students, and adults. I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree from Tufts University where I majored in child development. After earning my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Yeshiva University in New York, I decided to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. While earning a doctorate in psychology at Nova Southeastern University, I received specialized training in psychodynamic therapy. During my doctoral training, I worked in community mental health centers, university counseling centers, and the Miami Veterans Affairs Office. Lastly, I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont under the supervision of certified psychoanalysts.

In therapy, my first priority is to help you discover the reasons why certain difficulties keep arising. I view the development of a strong relationship between us as an essential aspect of our work together. Only in the presence of a warm, respectful listener can you feel safe enough to uncover a deeper understanding of yourself and your current place in the world.

Because our relationship is at the heart of change, I treat the first session as an opportunity for you to see how well we may work together and for me to assess how I could best meet your needs.

I have over a decade of experience working with clients of all ages, though my patients have typically been in the age range of 14 through 40 years old. While some are seeking relief from feelings of depression or anxiety, others are looking to become more connected with who they really are. As patients gain a better understanding of themselves and their difficulties, they begin to relate to themselves and others in a way that feels more fulfilling and authentic. If you feel like we may be a good fit, please contact me to set up an initial appointment.
